Spruce Power (NYSE: SPRU)
Since joining Spruce Power in 2017, Fong has provided executive leadership to create a leading rooftop solar power company in North America. As CEO, he directed the company to go public in 2022, with a leading industry position in residential solar M&A and residential solar servicing. With over $1 billion of residential solar and energy efficiency assets, Spruce serves over 80,000 assets and customers across the US. In 2023, he is leading the expansion of Spruce into environmental commodities markets
Renewable Energy Trust Capital, Inc
Fong co-founded RET Capital with a Tuck business school classmate in 2010, and raised over $750 million of capital. RET’s innovation in portfolio finance lowered the cost of clean energy to utilities, and became the renewable power YieldCo. As CFO and COO until its acquisition by BlueMountain Capital in 2016, Fong partnered in the creation of Terraform Power, and acquired and developed over $1 billion of utility-scale wind and solar assets in the US and Canada. Fong built the foundation of a new industry.
Corridor Recovery, Inc
Fong founded and served as CEO of Corridor Recovery, Inc from 2008 to 2011. Corridor Recovery was the hub organization for the response, recovery and rebuilding of Cedar Rapids, Iowa after the devastating Flood of 2008, then the 4th largest natural disaster in US history. It coordinated information systems, public response, volunteer rebuilding and government reinvestment. Corridor Recovery won numerous awards, Fong was featured in national media, and Cedar Rapids came back stronger than ever.
